Michael Hairfield, DVM

Dr. Michael Hairfield originally hails from North Carolina, but as a Virginia resident since 1965, considers himself a Virginian first.  He graduated from James Madison University with a Communications degree and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993.  He has been practicing at Cave Spring Veterinary Clinic as a full-time veterinarian since his graduation.  Michael's great passion is interacting with people and providing support to the dynamic relationships that they have with their pets.  Helping people by providing the best advice and care for their four-legged family members is Dr. Hairfield's ultimate goal as a medical professional.  His other great passion is spending time with his wife, Barbara, and three wonderful children.  Michael's primary hobbies are participating in his church including singing in his church choir, voraciously reading books of various genres and suffering through the Minnesota Viking's football season each and every year.

Dr. Hairfield has served previously as president of the Roanoke Valley Veterinary Medical Association, and as a companion animal practitioner is a member of the:

American Animal Hospital Association,
American Veterinary Medical Association and
Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.
